Who we are
SpeakRise (“we”) operates the practice application at speakrise.tech. For data protection purposes we are the controller of the data described below. You can reach us at info@speakrise.tech.
What we collect
Account information
- Your name and email address.
- Your password, stored only as a bcrypt hash. We never store it in a readable form and cannot recover it for you.
Addresses you invite
If you invite someone through Invite & Earn, we receive the email address you type and nothing else — no name, no phone number, no contact list. We use it once, to send that person a single invitation, and to know whether the invitation was accepted so we can credit you both.
We do not add invited addresses to any mailing list, we do not send them anything else, and we do not sell or share them. One invitation, and a second one only if your friend asks you to resend it.
Only invite people who would want to hear from you. Anyone who receives an invitation can reply to it asking not to be contacted again, or write to us directly, and we will remove the address from our records.
Your practice profile
- Native language, self-declared English level, preferred persona accent, feedback language.
- Your stated goal and job title, if you fill them in. These are free text that you choose — whatever you write there, we store.
Your practice sessions
- Audio recordings of your voice. Every turn you record is stored, not only transcribed. We are explicit about this because it is the most sensitive thing here.
- The text transcript of what you said, produced from that audio.
- The context you write when you create a session — for an interview, this is often a real job description you paste in.
- The persona’s replies, as text and as synthesized audio.
- Your evaluations: scores, written analysis, and the PDF report generated from them.
Credits and technical records
- A ledger of every credit added to or spent from your balance.
- The IP address of sign-up attempts, kept for a short window purely to stop automated abuse of the free-credit offer.
- Server logs, which may contain technical information about requests.
- If you choose “trust this device” when signing in, we store a random token for that browser — hashed, never in readable form — together with a coarse label such as “Chrome on macOS” and the dates it was trusted and last used. It lets that browser skip the 6-digit code for 30 days; it never replaces your password. You can see the list and erase it at any time under Trusted devices in your profile, and changing your password erases it too.
What we do not do
We think the absences matter as much as the list above:
- No cookies. The app keeps your sign-in token in your browser’s local storage. There is nothing to consent to, which is why you have never seen a cookie banner here.
- No advertising, no ad networks, no tracking pixels, no third-party analytics.
- We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the processors listed below.
- We do not use your recordings or transcripts to train AI models, and our processors are engaged on terms that do not permit them to either.
Why we process it
- To run the product you asked for — hold the conversation, transcribe your speech, produce your evaluation, show your progress over time. This is performance of our contract with you.
- To keep the service working and honest — preventing abuse of free credits, keeping an accurate credit ledger, diagnosing failures. This is our legitimate interest.
- To comply with the law where we are required to keep records.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of processors, and each one only sees what it needs:
- Anthropic — receives your session transcript and context to generate the persona’s replies and your evaluation. It does not receive your audio.
- Microsoft Azure — receives your audio for speech-to-text, generates the persona’s voice, and hosts the application, its database and its file storage.
Both process data on servers that may be outside your country. Where that involves an international transfer, it is covered by the standard contractual protections those providers offer.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, your sessions, your transcripts and your evaluations for as long as your account exists, so that your history and your progress chart remain meaningful. Sign-up IP records are deleted automatically within hours.
An invitation you never sent, or one that was removed before being accepted, is deleted with it. An accepted invitation keeps only the address and the date, because it is the record of credits we granted.
Recordings of your voice are deleted 30 days after the session. They are practice material: useful while you still want to hear how you sounded, and not something we have any reason to hold onto afterwards. The written transcript, the evaluation and the PDF report of that session stay — only the audio goes. If you want yours gone sooner, ask us and we will remove them.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong — your name and profile you can also edit yourself at any time;
- delete your account and everything attached to it, including every recording;
- stop processing your data, or object to it.
To delete your account, open your profile in the app and use “Delete my account”. You can cancel the request until it is carried out, and your account works normally in the meantime. A person reviews and carries it out, so allow us a few days, and we email you when it is done. Deletion is permanent and includes every recording, transcript, evaluation and your credit history. You can also write to info@speakrise.tech if you cannot reach the app.
SpeakRise is operated from Florida, in the United States. We apply the rights above to everyone who uses it, wherever they live. If you are in Brazil they are also guaranteed to you by the LGPD; in the European Union or the United Kingdom, by the GDPR. Either way you may complain to your local data protection authority — in Brazil, the ANPD.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Recordings and reports are held in private storage that is not publicly addressable, and the application requires an authenticated session to return any of it to you. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
Children
SpeakRise is not intended for children under 13, and if you are under 18 you should only use it with a parent or guardian’s permission. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if you believe we have, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant — new processors, a new purpose, a shorter or longer retention — we will tell account holders by email rather than quietly editing the page.
